Study 1
Love is to be the foundation of everything that we, as warriors of God, do for others, just like love is the foundation of everything God that does for us, because God is love (1 John 4:16).

To love others is to fulfil our calling as children of God, it’s part of our identity and part of the great commission found in Matthew 28:18-20, and referenced in Luke 24:46-49  *Mark 16:15-18[i]. This where the disciples are given the authority to destroy the works of the enemy (John 3:8)!  So then, we as disciples of Jesus are commanded to continue the mission that Jesus was sent to do. Part of which is to protect others from the enemy. They are those people, who he has given us the authority to protect in the spirit realm and see the works of the enemy destroyed in their lives.
In first 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 we read what love looks like, what it is and isn’t.
  • V4 patient, kind, not envious, not boastful, or proud.
  •  V5 does not dishonour others, it’s not self-seeking, it not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs.
  • V6 does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
  • V7 always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
  • V8 never fails. It will always remain.
The world’s belief system has a counterfeit type of love some examples of this might be:
  • To operating in co- enabling(dependant) behaviours that overlook sin.
E.g. Tolerating sinful destructive behaviours, and not addressing real issues by trying to relieve another’s pain, without allowing them to take responsibility for their actions
  •  Having a martyr mentality
E.g. having wrong motives, someone who does good works because they are feeling guilty, or obligated to, out of a sense of duty.
  • Smothering /controlling/manipulating of others.
  •  It can be  thought of as a very ooohy gooey feeling, which is an infatuation, chemistry
  • It can mean being in a relationship because of a need for others to make them happy or depend on others to (love) fix them so they can feel better about themselves.
This type of ‘love’ is the world’s wisdom, like the worlds wisdom described in James 3:14-16, it comes with bitter jealousy, selfish ambition, disorder, demonic activity (every evil thing).
Godly wisdom which is the antidote to false love will be evidenced by   purity, peace, gentleness, it is reasonable and full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy as mentioned in James 3 v 17
Proverbs 3:11  says My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline
or be weary of his reproof, V12 for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.
As addressed in the above verse it shows that love and discipline go together. Sometimes part of that discipline means that lies and hidden agendas in our lives need to be confronted and challenged.
Love believes, endures, perseveres, protects, and defends.
Love is the most powerful weapon that we will have at our disposal when warring in the spirit.

Maybe you could write a prayer.
[i] *there is some controversy about whether Mark 16:9-20 are the original writings’ of Mark. Many scholars believe that they were not part of the original text. This extra part of the passage was later found and included at the end of chapter 16.    I personally believe that what has been included is God inspired and God breathed.
